    DESCRIPTION

Mahina in the Hawaiian language means Moon. The word crescent is derived from the Latin verb "crescere" which means to grow. During this phase of the lunar cycle only part of the moon is illuminated.

When the moon is in waning form, it represents the removal of negative energy in one's life; shedding skin and getting rid of things that no longer serve you. In it's waxing form it represents growth, life, creativity and new beginnings.
